Personal

I cut my spiritual teeth in the splendor of the Pacific Northwest and grew up in a family where my faith was encouraged to take root.  Our family was soon transplanted to the wilds of the Rockies where I grew into a young man herding cattle and shepherding sheep.  After college, I blew into the Great Plains and married a Kansas beauty known both for her jump shot and her theological acumen. We have been married for 15 years.

Together, we sensed God's call to seminary and then to co-pastors of a middle-sized church in Wichita, Kansas where we served for ten years.  Currently, we are in our second year of writing sabbatical, making tents and serving God in new ways.  In this endeavor, we have met some great people, fallen in love with an old house, and we are raising three boys and ten chickens in our corner of the Kingdom.

After completing my doctorate in church-wide Sabbath rest, I have become less enamored with the institutional maintenance of the church but more in love with God's glorious plan for the church.  I am more convinced than ever that we can experience this wonderful, beautiful, joyful, easy yoke that God so desires for us.  It all starts with stopping.

"Be still..."
